Leigh French is one of Arcane Marketing’s Web Developers and the go-to person for all things web — especially accessibility and performance. She builds, audits, and troubleshoots client websites across a wide range of platforms and stacks, with a particular focus on making the web work better for everyone. Day to day, that means WordPress development, accessibility auditing, front-end implementation, and the kind of technical problem-solving that keeps client sites running the way they should.
On the WordPress side, Leigh works mostly in Elementor, building out custom functionality with tools like Pods and Gravity Forms and writing the PHP and JavaScript needed when off-the-shelf solutions don’t quite cut it. Her accessibility audits go beyond automated scans — she runs sites through WAVE, axe DevTools, Lighthouse, and VoiceOver, then fixes what she finds at the code level: keyboard-accessible dropdowns, properly labeled ARIA landmarks, skip links that actually work. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s the kind that decides whether someone can actually use the site.
She brings a user-first mindset to everything she builds — and that’s not an accident. Before joining the world of code, Leigh spent eight years as a Physical Therapist Assistant, where she developed a deep belief that the systems people rely on should actually work for them. That philosophy translated naturally into web development, where she approaches every project with the same goal: remove the barriers, make it functional, make it beautiful.
Her path into development wasn’t traditional, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Through the roller derby community, she crossed paths with developers who genuinely loved what they did — and that energy was contagious. When COVID created a window to go back to school, she took it. She earned an Associate in Science in Multimedia Technologies with a concentration in Web Design and Development, adding to an earlier Associate of Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. It’s an odd combination on paper, but it means she’s spent her career troubleshooting systems that matter to real people — first their bodies, now their websites.
What Leigh loves most about this work is bringing a client’s digital vision to life — taking an idea and making it real, functional, and accessible on the web. That’s the same spirit she carried into physical therapy, just a different medium.

Leigh's favorite quote:
Outside of work, Leigh is kept very busy by her husband, Randy, their four-year-old daughter Lilith, two German Shepherd Dogs, two cats, and five rescued ferrets. She’s recently taken up making balloon animals — though Lilith has strict opinions about the dog-to-cat ratio of the balloon animal repertoire.
